How I met the FantasyMan
I met the FM back in 2000 while I was helping out with my churches youth group. I had made friends with the youth pastor and his wife, and they had gone to college with the FM. One day I was sitting in Steve's office (the youth pastor) and I was looking through the directory from the college he had attended.
Me: This guy's cute!
Steve: Who?
Me: This guy (showed him the book.)
Steve: No way! That's my boy!!
So, basically I picked him out of a college directory. Nice huh? That's how cool the flipflopmamma is...I pick a guy...he falls in love...bam, he's hooked forever.
Yeah, in my dreams! This is how it really went...
So, I pick this guy out of the directory, and then like 3 months later Steve invites him to town for the weekend.
I had a date the night he arrived with some other guy, some loser that was in a band and covered in tats...I thought I was soo cool. Anyway, Steve calls me and says he wants me to bring him the movies I had borrowed from him (btw, Steve is a pro wrestler in an indy fed and they were clips of him wrestling), so I go to his house before my date and he meets me on the front porch. The FM is inside playing video games, so I peek my head in to see him in person. OMGosh! I thought he was soooooo cute! He had a completly bald head (he shaved it!) and he was thin (man, marriage takes it's toll, huh? Hee hee, just kidding if you're reading this babe!) and it was seriously...love. at. first. site.
But, I had a date remember? So I go back home, and guess what? I get stood up! Can you believe it? I get stood up by tattoo guy in the band, and he wasn't even that cute! But now I'm grinning from ear to ear as I call Steve and see what they're doing.
The 3 of us went out to eat and then to see "Duce biggalo, Male jiggalo" (sp?) of all movies!
And we ended up hanging out the rest of the weekend. He wore the same clothes the whole time...I thought he was sooo cool. (He told me later that when he saw me he was like "dang, all I brought with me is this red t-shirt and this hat.)
So, long story short...it took him 2 months of visiting me to finally get hooked and decide he really liked me...come on, what was wrong with the guy? Seriously. So, we dated for 3 years and 4 months before finally tying the not (he's a very s l o w m o v e r.), and we'll be married for 3 years this September!!!
This was the "Peek Inside Me" weekly challenge for this week. Stop by CheerioButt for details.
Last week was to tell a secret about ourselves, and I was going to tell you all how I had a mullet in 4th grade, and show you my 4th grade pic. I'm wearing a pink blazer, like I'm in "Miami Vice" or something and I have a spike and a mullet! But I couldn't find the picture!!! Man! Bummer.
