The Method.
Sometimes when I do reviews I get paid, sometimes I get free stuff and sometimes I just come across things that I want you all to know about so I blog about them for nothing. Well, here's one of those reviews!
I have Method's Cucumber hand soap in my bathroom. Mmmmm, is all I can say. It smells so good and refreshing...I love washing my hands with it! Well, I emailed the company and suggested that they make body wash (particularly cucumber body wash). I told them that many people want to use non-toxic body washes and lotions but just can't afford the high prices in the healthfood stores. I was promptly emailed back and told that they do in fact make body wash!!! I had no idea!! Method did say that they would pass on my email to their marketing dept because cucumber scent is wonderful.
It's called Method Bloq. I bought some today. OMWord....I am in LURVE with Method Bloq Green Mint!! I bought the wash and the lotion. Oh, heavenly! I smell like I've been at the spa all day! I'm serious, if you were here, you'd lick me!! lol. And the best part??? It's only $5.99 for a 10 ounce bottle!!!!!
Then I was walking through the baby aisles and found California Baby bath wash!!! At Target!!! I've only heard rave reviews about there products, and so I was so thrilled to find it today!! I haven't used it yet, so I can't give my opinions yet. I then went from thrilled to freaked when I saw SlowMo dousing herself in Johnson and Johnson's baby lotion! AAAAaaahhhhhhh!!! That stuff has carcinogens in it!!!! Ok, a little dramatic there, but i did tell her to stop it!!!
If you think I'm going a little overboard, read this:
Originally found on Mommy Off The Records blog
"Laboratory tests released today revealed the presence of 1,4-Dioxane in products such as Hello Kitty Bubble Bath, Huggies Baby Wash, Johnson’s Baby Wash, Scooby-Doo Bubble Bath and Sesame Street Bubble Bath. The tests also found the carcinogen in Clairol Herbal Essences shampoo, Olay Complete Body Wash and many other personal care products....“Regrettably, 1,4-Dioxane contamination is just the tip of the iceberg,” said Jeanne Rizzo, R.N., executive director of the Breast Cancer Fund, a founding member of the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics. “Because the FDA does not require cosmetics products to be approved as safe before they are sold, companies can put unlimited amounts of toxic chemicals in cosmetics.”
So, to end this, I will remind you all to check the SkinDeep database before buying any cosmetics!!
***It was brought to my attention that Method is rated a 5 on the skin deep site! This means it has a Moderate health risk....and the risk is because some of the chemicals may be cancer causing! I'm not sure what I think of this! I do try to stay within the yellow or the green....I read all ingredients and thought it was safe because they didn't contain any parabens. Hmmmm.***

Thank you for the links near the end of this post. I will be researching more in the coming weeks as I get more time.
We already use Method so I will look for their body wash as well!!
I also was approved today for payu2blog so I am excited to get my first assignments! Thanks for making it look do-able!
I love the method line at Target, but I've just found Arbonne & they have an all natural baby line that I now adore!
And this really freaked me out, but I was told that all those "Tear-Free" products are that way because they have a NUMBING agent in them! AAUUGGHH!!!!! I gotta read more about that one but AAUUGGHH!!!!
We love Method products! Hubby uses the Bloq and lurves it, too! : )
And California Baby is definitely my all-time fave right now for the kids. LOVE the scent! And so happy to get these at Tar-jay!

you can spend all that money on stupid soaps, but burger is "too expensive"? Let's try something:
"SOAP, its whats for dinner!"
Moral of the day--God wants us to eat beef. Its one of the first things you learn as a Christian. Like the song says:
"Jesus loves beef, this I know. For the Bible tell me so. Wondrous cows to him belong, beef is right and chicken's wrong.
Yes, Jesus loves beef. Yes, Jesus loves beef. Yes, Jesus loves beef. The Bible tells me so."
I looked up Method brand products on SkinDeep and they rate 5 with cancer risk. I use Method brand as well and was disapointed to see this. Maybe it was wrong? What do you think?
I loved your hubby's comment. I take it your not into meat!!
I use method to clean and LOVE it. But I haven't tried the body wash.
Thanks for your reply. I agree Hmmmm... I've always found an interest in reading product labels and after reading your post I did some research on products I have. I threw out about five bottles of stuff. Also here in Canada we have The Body Shop which says they do not test on animals. That's great and all but a lot of there products rate very high on SkinDeep for human use.
I love California Baby Stuff. Some of the things I have to order online cuz they don't carry the full line at Target. Love it!
We love the CA Baby diaper cream, it's really easy to smooth on and seems to work well with cloth diapers. :) And it smells very nice!
We use a lot of Burt's Bees because we like the smell and I can get it for a good price from my coop. It's paraben-free and phthalate-free. :)
Have fun shopping!
Hey there Mama!!
Thanks for the tips!! I love it!! I actually have seen those at Target too!!
How are you feeling?? Mama of 3 very soon!!??

Oh my word, I posted about Method's body stuff. I love the green mint!!! I use the bar soap and it's heavenly.

I know, I was disapointed with the Method ratings as well! I was excited to see an "all natural" line at Target, only to see that maybe they aren't "All Natural"...Gosh, so much research to always do to stay on top of everything! It can get exhausting!
